Urundei works by:
• Assisting with natural resources management planning.
• Documenting and following the impacts caused by human activities including unsustainable agricultural production and resource plundering.
• Supporting private conservation efforts and new conservation laws.
• Providing technical support for protected areas.
• Supporting and strengthening local initiatives related to the conservation of natural resources
• Documenting and sharing positive experiences and proposals from different perspectives.
• Using audiovidual and other communication tools to raise awareness and increase opportunities for information exchange and dialogues.
Urundei´s project activities include:
• Documenting landuse changes and activities in the Gran Chaco and sub-Andean region to provide information for better management of the natural resources in the region.
• Supporting and guiding sustainable production activities of cattle ranchers, farmers and communities, for the better use of the natural resources.
• Promoting private conservation areas around El Rey National Park through discussions of conservation policies and suggesting new alternative activities using diverse sustainable production methods.
• Supporting conservation actions in the Chaco-Yungas Corridor in Salta Province of northern Argentina.
• Sharing information by means of the videos posted on the internet sites of Voces del Chaco (www.vocesdlechaco.com), and ¨Urundei Exchange¨ to bring the voices of local people searching for new ideas and changes in behavior related to biodiversity conservation and natural resource management.
• Serving as secretariat for the IUCN Commission on Environment, Economic and Social Policy subgroup on Equity, Rights, and Governance.
